Maja Parmač Kovačić, PhD
Department of Psychology at the Faculty of Philosophy and Social Sciences, University of Zagreb (Croatia)

An assistant professor at the Department of Psychology, Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, University of Zagreb. At the same faculty she graduated in 2005 and received her PhD in 2011 with the theme Testing Paulhus' model of socially desirable responding.

She teaches a number of undergraduate, graduate and doctoral courses in psychology at the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, as well as at the interdisciplinary specialist postgraduate studies in Human Resources Management at the University of Zagreb and the Postgraduate Specialist Studies for Principals of Educational Institutions at the Faculty of Teacher Education in Zagreb.

During her work at the Department of Psychology, she actively participated in a large number of scientific projects, and is currently a collaborator on two research projects of the Croatian Science Foundation: Teacher personality, emotion and job performance: A dynamic perspective (principal investigator Irena Burić, PhD) and Implicit Personality, Decision Making and Leadership in Organizations (principal investigator Zvonimir Galić, PhD). She was the principal investigator of the project Multimodal indicators of falsification in a selection interview for a managerial position (project funded by the University of Zagreb) in 2020.

Her main research interest is related to personality assessment in professional selection and leadership in organizations, and so far she has published fifteen scientific and professional papers in this field in reputable domestic and international journals (e.g., International Journal of Selection and Assessment, Journal of Personality Assessment , Personality and Individual Differences, Personnel Psychology, Current Psychology), constructed and adapted a number of measuring instruments and participated in domestic and international scientific and professional conferences with over 20 presentations.

As a member of the program and organizing committee, she participated in the organization of a number of domestic and international scientific conferences. She has held numerous seminars, webinars, and workshops on the topic of active job search, professional guidance and career development, coping with stress at work and work-life balance. She was an invited lecturer at the conference "HR Days", the Annual National Meeting of Pedagogues and several County Professional Councils of Pedagogues.

She is a member of the Croatian Psychological Chamber and the European Association of Work and Organizational Psychology, and was also a member of the editorial board of the journal Contemporary Psychology and the leadership of the Section for Organizational Psychology of the Croatian Psychological Society.
